Get The Nebelwerfer

Elise crouches behind a burned out car. "Which way are we going?" she wonders of anyone who happens to be nearby. <re in case it didn't go thru>

Novikova squints. "Well, watch out for mines, I'm told. I think there's Nazis to the east… we're coming aaround the west?" Novikova looks for confirmation, whispering nearby.

«Ground Combat» Sokolof moves out of Burned-Out Car.

«Game» Elise changes her style to Stealth!

Sokolof was caught up to go out with the Nebelwerfer party. He shoulders his rifle, looking rather grim. As per usual, for him.

«Ground Combat» Elise reloads her Mosin-Nagant!

«Game» Sokolof changes his style to Stealth!

Elise nods to Novi. She moves out from behind the car, cautiously joining the others in the advance.

«Announcement from Vengeance!» One sec

«Game» Red October Factory is no longer a war zone!

«Medic Code» Maschenko heals 2 wound damage on Elise's head.

«Game» The enemy is near… Red October Factory is now a war zone!

«Game» Novikova changes her style to Stealth!

Taktarov is crouched low in the road, sitting on his heels, as the rest of the squad filters in. "Comrades- do we know if there is a way into the school, to the south of here?"

Dimitri scratches at his scruff as he moves along the road with his squad. His rifle is strapped across his back to help him increase his sneakiness until it is needed. A look at Taktarov, "No idea."

Elise shakes her head to Taktarov. "I'm not sure. I don't remember coming this way. There's one to the north, isn't there?"

Taktarov hmms. "Well, I will check.. Unless someone else has a better idea?" he asks, looking among the other soldiers.

Maschenko makes it in near the back of the squad, close to Sokolof. He lowers his voice as he gets near the others, pointing east. "There were holes in the walls at that gym (3 0). They went clear through to the playground, so Comrade sergeant said."

Novikova looks to the east and squints. She follows along with the squad. "Um." Hrm. She looks thoughtful at that question. "It's been awhile since I even came here. I can look wherever you need- Ooh…" She looks grateful for Maschenko. "That makes sense."

Dimitri looks back at the squad and nods. A look over at them, "I'm going to try and get a flanking position on them…if you guys are not opposed to the idea, of course." A look around at them.

Taktarov ohs. "That does make sense.." he murmers on the heels of Novi's words. Looking to Dimitri, he notes, "I think we should all stay together for now, comrade. East?"

Sokolof hunches over some. As he always does when thrust out into the field, ever regretting his height. "I have never been to this place," he says. And the whole of it has him even more dour than usual. "But let us try to get in through the gym the sergeant spoke of, Comrade Doctor."

Elise looks to Dimitri. "Not a bad idea, Comrade." Err, or not? She looks to Taktarov when he wants them to stick together, and shrugs.

Dimitri nods to Taktarov, "Of course, I only meant when we got close to their position."

Maschenko is quiet as they decide what to do. The doctor's no tactical man. He gives an uneasy glance to the north and then to the south. "Whatever we do we ought to quickly, before a patrol comes."

Novikova frowns, "Well. I vote we move south or east." She offers.

Dimitri points to the east, "I vote this way…less chance of running into mines if we stay clear of the roads."

Novikova points out, "Mines can be laid anywhere. Not just roads. Let me clear east then."

«Ground Combat» Novikova moves East <E>.

Taktarov cranes his neck to look after Novi as the Gardener/Engineer of Death moves into the building.

Elise nods to Dimitri. "Sounds good. How about Zoy…" And her cousin's already off. "Good." She watches in concern.

«Ground Combat» You are now peeking into School No. 5 - Storage.

Sokolof watches Novikova move off, squinting after her. Waiting.

Maschenko is less watching than listening. His night vision's not too great, but the sound of something exploding would be hard to miss.

Novikova is crawling and poking about. She looks remarkably doglike, ponytails bobbing as she hunts. her hazel eyes are bright. After an agonizing set of minutes, she waves a hand. Not 100 percent… is it ever? She makes a motion that she has found none. But … one should watch their step anyway yes?

Sokolof sees Novikova's signal, edging forth.

Taktarov fidgets a bit where he crouches. "She is waving us forward.." he murmers with a grin as the scout gives the good word. The young man hurries eastward.

The Grid-----> > > > > THE GREATEST GENERATION < < <

Coordinates : 1 1

The northern half of two connected storage buildings. Little more than a barn, the roof has been ripped up by shelling and lets in the worst of elements. What small amount of grounds supplies were here are broken and lie strewn on the floor, covered in rubble.

It is currently dusk.

«Ground Combat» You notice Dimitri arrive at School No. 5 - Storage.

Novikova is tense, waiting as the others arrive. She gazes eastwards, offers a little smile and starts moving again. Mines, mines, gotta watch those mines.

Elise gives Novi a tense nod as the young woman heads off again.

Dimitri moves along quietly with the group, his large frame hunched over quite humorously, but he seems to be doing a good job at not getting shot at by Germans yet, always a good thing.

«Ground Combat» You are now peeking into School No. 5 - Outside.

«Ground Combat» Nowakowski moves out of Collapsed roof section.

Maschenko keeps close to the splintered walls, settling low on one knee as they wait for the bomb squad to give the okay.

«Ground Combat» You notice Novikova arrive at School No. 5 - Outside.

Taktarov is chewing his lower lip idly as he peers eastward, following the vanguard's progress.

«Game» Nowakowski changes his style to Stealth!

Nowakowski is slow to catch up, darn that vodka hangover! He settles in with the others, clutching his rifle close.

Sokolof strains to squint into the dim light and follow Novikova's movements. Waiting again.

Novikova holds up a 'don't come' sign. She's found mines. Three fingers. Three mines. Carefully, she sets to disarming tthem.

Nowa has vodka? Get im!!! Ahem. Elise leans against some rubble, rifle held tightly as she watches on pins and needles to see whether her cousin blows herself up. "After this we'll have to go south to get to the entrance?" she asks Maschenko.

Taktarov draws in a hissing breath. "Comrade Novikova is holding up three fingers." He reports. "I.. think she found mines."

Maschenko nods once to Elise. "That's what comrade sergeant said. Gym goes through and through to the playground. I imagine we'll hit guards very soon…" He falls silent as Tak holds up fingers, feeling his heart skip a beat. Egad.

«Ground Combat» Mikhail moves out of Collapsed roof section.

Nowakowski peers, glancing around, "Could mean three germans as well.." he says with an idle shrug, waaaay to rain on the parade there Nowa!

«Game» Mikhail unwields his Chisel!

«Game» Mikhail wields his Mosin-Nagant!

Elise shakes her head to Nowakowski. "Don't think so. She's pointing at the ground, not at the building." Unless they are German moles. She nods to Maschenko, knuckles turning white.

Sokolof shakes his head. "Mines. It must be mines. That is what she went on ahead to search for."

Novikova is having a time of it. It's taking her a bit to clear the mines. Not done yet. There were three after all.

Maschenko mutters under his breath. "They must have been anticipating us, mining this side of the school like this."

Taktarov keeps fidgeting, drumming his fingers on the stock of the rifle he holds. "Well.." he adds, to Schenko's comment. "It *is* our city. I dont think they expected a .. non exploding sort of welcome."

Mikhail has followed the group so far, frowning as he listens to the others. "Mines? I should get up there and help getting rid of them, then…"

«Entrenchment» Novikova clears

3 antipersonnel and

0 antivehicular mines.

Dimitri slowly slips his rifle from his shoulder and watches the east closely, waiting for his signal to move up, "I'm going to need to find a position to cover you from…or I might just stay back as you advance upon the emplacement's position…I need to think on this."

Elise hears Mikhail's voice. "Comrade Mikhail, I didn't see you there. Da, go on in and help please." Where's Comrade Sergeant when you need her?

Novikova phews. She finally gets the last mine disarmed. It clicks harmlessly, and she moves it aside to trouble no one now. She waves a little. Safe as far as she can tell, but no tapdancing.

Muddy, open ground without much cover. Bodies — both uniformed and civilian — lie strewn in heaps, many tossed out the windows of the school buildings nearby into this impromptu graveyard. The light dusting of snow on the ground doesn't help; boots have tromped through it and left it a slushy, bloodstreaked mess.

It is currently dusk.

Taktarov hurries out of the school building to the west with a wide grin, and thumbs-up for the minesweeper. "What took you so long?" he teases, dryly.

«Ground Combat» You notice Nowakowski arrive at School No. 5 - Outside.

Novikova peers eastwards once more. She's looking into a window. "I think I have to go so— well, excuse me, they dislike me dancing upon them you see…" She smiles a little at Taktarov. "Anyway, I think we have to go south or north - not all of us can make it through a window."

Sokolof moves forward again, cautiously as he can. "Better to wait than be blown to bits, Comrade Zoyenka. We thank you. South it should be to my mind, da? As we shall have to go that direction in any case eventually."

Dimitri moves in and crouches down next to Novikova. A look back to the squad and he says, "We're clear of Germans to the South. Someone check that window, quietly, to the east to see if anyone's waiting to ambush us when we enter the gym."

Maschenko nods at Sokolof's opinion of the waiting. "Indeed better. Just watch ourselves now, they're bound to be crawling all over this building."

Elise nods to Novi when they come through. "Good job, Zoya. We'll go south next after you clear it. Comrade Mikhail can help." She turns to the others. "We need someone to watch east and north, make sure they don't surprise us while we're clearing." She looks around to see if there are any volunteers.

«Ground Combat» You are now peeking into School No. 5 - Outside.

Nowakowski quietly sneakies up with the others, keeping well to the rear of the more experienced scouts and soldiers… well.. experienced in this battlefield that is for sure, a far cry from the Spanish civil war.

Novikova shakes her head, "I think I see an old rifle - but nothing beyond that." She smiles a little to her squad. "I'll look south then. I got the mines, but watch your feet." She huffs and scampers south once more. She smiles at Elise and off she goes.

Mikhail nods a little bit at what he hears, frowning a little bit as he heads south as well now.

Novikova looks relieved as no one blows up. "I see none, you guys?"

Mikhail looks around carefully, nodding a little to himself. "Don't think there's any mines here…" he offers, quietly.

Sokolof moves a bit too soon. Well, he makes it without exploding. That's somewhat. A shake of his head to Nov.

Maschenko breathes shallowly, keeping an eye around them as he waits for the signal from the south.

Novikova nods at the gym, she peeks in through a hole, looking comical. Motions to the others. Safe from mines a tleast. Mostly. Far as she can tell.

To the east, a hole's been ripped into the side of the gym, making entrance easy if one can avoid the gunfire.

«Ground Combat» You are now peeking into School No. 5 - Gym.

Elise nods, pleased by his acceptance. "All right. Take care."

Mikhail looks towards the east as well, shaking his head, "Looks like it's nobody in there," he offers, before he grimaces. "I have a bad feeling about this…" Offered quietly.

Maschenko licks his lips, looking quite uneasy as Dimitri goes ahead. Bad feelings about this abound.

Sokolof looks uneasy as well. But, then, doesn't he always? Rifle is held in a slightly more 'ready' position as he prepares to move again.

Dimitri moves into the building quietly and slowly and begins to have a look towards the east. He holds up three fingers and points east.

"Maybe.. they just *really* expected us to trip over the mines and give them warning?" Taktarov suggests, hopefully. Dimitri's signals earn a nod. "He sees them. Three to the east."

Elise nods quietly to Mikhail, watching with bated breath as Dimitri sneaks in. "Three to the east. Let's see if he checks north as well."

«Ground Combat» Dimitri moves into Pile of splintered wood.

Dimitri crawls over to the pile of wood and begins to set up his position, waiting for the others to move it from the west.

Nowakowski is just peeking east, peering as he watches Dimitri sneaking around.

Taktarov asks Elise, "Should we all move up, comrade?"

Mikhail nods, frowning a bit, "Shall we sneak in there as well, then?"

Dimitri looks over at them and says, "I think they've seen someone…get down."

Kammerling splashes blood in Elise's eyes, blinding her for a moment. And in that moment he cracks her hard in the skull with the rifle butt, splitting her cheek open and knocking her out cold. She slumps sideways, half out of the foxhole.

Taktarov blinks with shock as Elise is stricken badly. Dropping his empty rifle, and drawing his less-empty pistol, the skinny young man rushes out from behind the truck to get at Kammerling, in hopes that Elise will still be in one piece when he gets there..

Gietl slowly bruises Sokolof to death.

«Ground Combat» Taktarov moves into Foxhole.

Sokolof is going to look like he's been in a bar brawl after all this.

The third shot does the trick. Later, Taktarov will remember to feel a pang of guilt at spending bullets so freely, but for now, he hurries to drag Elise more fully into cover, wincing at her smashed cheekbone.

Elise is limp when Tak moves her, blood streaming down her cheek and from the earlier cut by her ear.

Taktarov empties his pistol at Gietl before giving a bit more attention to digging out a cleanish rag and apply pressure to keep Elise's blood on the inside of her skin.

"Elise needs the comrade Doctor," Taktarov calls in answer to Novi as he scrambles out of the foxhole. "And.. we need to ruin the bomb machine.." he adds, glaring balefully at the Nebelwerfer.

Maschenko arrives from the West.

Nowakowski arrives from the West.

Sokolof shoves himself hastily away from Gietl's finally-limp corpse, getting to his feet with a groan. His lip is bleeding and he's rapidly developed a black eye. The machine gun is not a sharp weapon, but it's still metal and quite painful to be hit with. "Thank you, Comrade Zoya," he says. "Nothing cut, I don't think. The others had the worse of it."

Mikhail arrives from the West.

Dimitri walks in slowly, his bloody left hand holding his bloody right arm, "Is everyone okay?" He has a seat against the wall, watching the others and waiting for a response.

Elise lays unconscious on the ground next to the dreaded Nebelwerfer, Tak's bandage resting loosely against the gash on her cheek.

Nowakowski hurries up from the west, rubbing at his zinged shoulder, looking around, "Now what?"

Novikova looks sympathetic and offers Sokolof a hand. She's not sure she is on time to help him but still. "Da, think nothing of it, you help us ttoo." She nods and frowns, looking to Elise, worried now, "Cousin…" She hesitates. "Oh! Hmm." How to ruin that artillery. Novikova looks to her shovel. Hrrm. She heads over to the Nebel to see what she can do to destroy it.

Sokolof makes for the big gun, to get it properly torn down. As they can.

Making his way over a bit wobbly, Mikhail uses his rifle to steady him. "Sorry for not being of more use, this time," he offers. Frowning as he looks to the big gun now.

«Announcement from Vengeance!» Thank you Yulia for helping shoot you all tonight!

Nowakowski looks to Novikova, "Best to remove the firing pin.. or disable the tubes.. drop grenades down them or something….." he murmurs, shrugging, "A thought."

Nowakowski also raises a point, "See if you find maps… for controlling fires… might find locations of other guns and maybe other units…" he says, just a suggestion.

Maschenko sprints out through the hole in the gym wall, feet and legs still working at the very least. He doesn't get close to the Nebelwerfer of doom, slinging his blood-covered rifle over his shoulder and heading for the wounded.

"How about, we start a fire inside it and leave? Or steal it and drive away? ..Wait, no, then the comrades would shoot us. Also, I dont think anyone knows how to drive it." Taktarov is babbling a bit. Novikova's idea strikes him as a better one. "Oooh, good thinking!"

Dimitri stands from against the wall and says, "I'm going to have a look around and check the bodies, someone was bound to be in charge. Anyone want to come with me?"

Novikova looks thoughtful a moment. She considers the controls and the Nebelwerfer. Finally she grunts and slams the side of the shovel into the controls. She quietly sets about to largely destroying the controls. Okay, maybe not so quietly. But at least later the metal can be melted down right? "Sure, I will only be underfoot," Sadface. "And my hand stings a lot." Sadness.

Medic pack flapping, Yulia comes in after the all-clear, scanning the situation. She pales, and finds Maschenko immediately. "Where should I start, comrade doctor?" She starts straying towards Elise.

Sokolof kneels to check the now-dead German's position beside the Nebel. Sifting through the corpse of Kammerling's pockets for maps and the like.

Elise is still out cold, blood dripping onto the soft dirt of the foxhole.

Maschenko points Yulia towards Nowakowski and Dimitri, flicking blood off his hand. "Over there, comrade nurse. I'll see to Elise and Efim." He skirts around the group at the Nebelwerfer, not eager to get anywhere close to that thing.

Mikhail keeps silent for now, looking around a little bit. Glancing between the others now.

Taktarov climbs up on the moving artillery piece peering through the multiple tubes. Looking around he mutters, "Why is there never a sledgehammer when you need one? ..And a second healthy arm! Why is there never a second healthy arm when you need one.."

Maschenko gets close to it though, if Elise is there. Dammit Elise.

Dimitri shrugs at them and wanders over to the dead Gietl, ruffling through his pockets.

Yulia nods and instead beelines for the one-eyed sniper and Nowakowski, flicking a wary glance herself at the machine. Dimitri first. She hovers slightly, not quite watching him frisk the dead German. "Comrade. Your arm?"

Novikova looks like she did what she could. She pauses, "Could jam it with dirt and rocks I guess." Dirt hurts guns, would hurt - well, hm. "I have some mines. I wonder if I could stick a mine on then shoot the mine. Would that set it off? Do I need more Vodka to make that sound like a good plan?" Adrenaline and being dazed are doing a number on her. Her left hand is n bad shape. She shrugs at Taktarov. "I don't know, but I am beating any redhaired Nazis I see senseless." Oh snap. She looks to Elise worried, "I only wish I were a doctor so I could help her… But I guess the best help now is staying out of the way." She lets others scavenge for now.

Sokolof does find some papers in Kammerling's pockets. He pulls out what look like maps of the city, certain areas circled. "I shall pass these to Comrade Sergeant," he says, straightening. A look over his shoulder, and shake of his head to Maschenko. "I am fine, Luka. Attend to those actually wounded. I have taken far worse in a schoolyard before." Added ruefully.

Elise is blissfully unaware of the trouble she's causing Maschenko. Still out cold.

Dimitri fishes a pack of cigarettes out of the German's breast pocket and slips it into his own. He looks up at Yulia and nods, "It'll hold until we get back. You can help someone in the meantime."

"…They used to spike cannons?" Taktarov supposes at last. "I don't know. How do we break a bunch of metal tubes? We could steal the back part? That seals up after the shells?" he guesses to Novikova, trying to keep her mind occupied on non-wounded-cousin business.

Nowakowski grins, "Just… disable the sights and the aiming mechanisms so they can't point the darn things… but beyond pourin concrete down the tubes there ain't much to do."

«Game» Yulia moves out of Foxhole.

Mikhail sits down now, just looking around a bit quietly.

«Game» Taktarov unwields his Tokarev TT-33!

«Game» Taktarov wields his Mosin-Nagant!

«Ground Combat» Taktarov reloads his Mosin-Nagant!

«Ground Combat» Maschenko reloads his Mosin-Nagant!

«Game» Mikhail wields his Mosin-Nagant!

«Ground Combat» Mikhail reloads his Mosin-Nagant!

Dimitri stands still for a moment, allowing Yulia to work on his arm, women are persistent creatures. He smiles at her as she works and when she's finished he dips his head to her with a, "Thank you." before moving off to the west to continue scavenging.

Yulia sighs, breath frosting in the air. "It looks bad, comrade. I'm just going to bandage it quickly, then get out of your way." She at least controls the bleeding and gets the bandage around there.

Dimitri heads off West.

«Game» Taktarov moves into Foxhole.

Novikova hms at Nowakowski. "That makes sense," She smiles at him. She takes a deep breath. Lifts her shovel and brings the edge of it down onto part of the aiming mechanism. That one's for Rada. She never forgot the Uzbek. She shrugs at Taktarov. "I could carry it and hit Nazis with it," She offers wryly. She tries to keep looking to Elise, but … then she's tempted to get underfoot. Her hazel eyes narrow a bit. "I guess I'll stuff what dirt and slush I can in the barrel after we smash the sights a bit." She throws the mine idea out the window for now. "I hope we didn't lose anyone?"

Taktarov hrms, and calls out, "Can someone bring all the fascist rifles? I think, we could.. I don't know.. Stuff them in the tubes and start a fire? there is enough boken timbers and ceiling beams around here for that, yes?"

Dimitri arrives from the West.

Nowakowski heads off West.

"The powder left in them could cause a small explosion," Sokolof agrees with Taktarov, gathering Kammerling's rifle up. While he's down there. "Worthy of a try, at least."

Nowakowski arrives from the West.

Mikhail pauses a little bit as he reloads his rifle, looking around for a few moments. Shaking his head a little bit.

Nowakowski heads off North.

Nowakowski arrives from the North.

Nowakowski heads off West.

Dimitri arrives from the west and nods to his comrades, "I didn't find anything important." He pins the dead German sniper's pin to his chest, just above his breast pocket.

Novikova nods, "All I have are mines." Sadface. "I will help gather them theen." She smiles at Sokolof. "I am glad you're here." She is relieved for the older man's wisdom. she watches the group. She pauses at Dimitri. "He didn't stab you too badly?"

Maschenko kneels down by Elise in the cold, nasty mud. His hand still drips as he pulls gauze and a small bottle of water from his satchel, going to work on the poor girl's face. Least it didn't tear her skull clean open.

"Okay.." Taktarov muses aloud. I think.. we should probably clear people away from this thing, before I start any fires.." A crooked grin. "Oh, and comrades? There may be more mines around, so.. be careful searching, yes?"

Sokolof stuffs what German weaponry he can down the maw of the Nebelwerfer. He'll try and get a fire lit once Taktarov has added whatever he can, and between the two of them they can get the thing disabled.

Wait, what? Maschenko's been focused on stopping the blood pouring from Elise's scalp that he barely heard talk of fire. "What…shit. Comrade nurse, can you give me a hand?" Getting Elise away from the thing they're, like, setting on fire.

Mikhail frowns a little as he gets to his feet again, "I'll help you as well," he offers to the doctor, after a few moments of pause.

Dimitri looks up at Novi's question, "Nah, not as bad as I stabbed him. I'm sure that my hand will start hurting any time now." He chuckles and spits on his uninjured hand to wipe off the pin. "Anyone find something worth finding?"

Yulia glances about for Nowakowski, but he must have wandered off. His wound didn't seem to be too bad in the scope of things so she'll wait until he comes back. Another glance around, which finally lands on the Nebelwerfer. Then she starts, hearing Maschenko. "Yes—" hustle on over there. Elise looks in a rotten state, and Yulia swallows a lump forming in her throat, ducking in to help move her.

Taktarov chuckles nervoucly, calling over toward the injured and the nurses, "Dont worry comrades.. we arent starting any fires until people are well clear of here.."

Elise stirs a little when Maschenko starts examining her face, moaning but not fully regaining consciousness. Her cheek is bleeding and swollen. There's a slight cheek fracture but it's hard to tell for sure without xrays. Nothing too drastic, just painful. The other wound is mild in comparison.

"Keep her head and neck steady, Yulia," Maschenko tells the nurse when she gets closer. "Comrade Mikhail, lift her feet and I'll get under her shoulders." From the right side, so Yulia can control arguably the most important duty in the move. "To the hole in the wall, there. Elise, hang on. We're about to pick up, just be still."

Novikova smiles at taktarov. She seems glad for his presence. "Da." She lets them work though and talking to Dimitri - though she keeps looking to Elise as if she wants to scoop her poor cousin up and carry her away somewhere safer and happier. "I wish I could help more." Sigh. She looks to Dimitri, "I see. Well, it's good you're safe. I really can't figure out why they keep shooting my left hand." Somewhere, a man named Asche is giggling. "And we got our school back." Some relief there.

Mikhail nods a bit as he hears the instructions. "Will do," he offers with a bit of a grim smile. Otherwise keeping silent as he moves to get into place to do as instructed now.

Taktarov spends the time while Elise is being moved piling up the assorted flammables from the indoor room, adjascent, and piling them up under the gun, and in the barrels, and jammed into the aiming screw.. and so forth.

Yulia glances at Tak. Then his arm. Then back to his face. "All right," she says uncertainly. Still, it'd be good to get Elise to a more stable location before long. Moving into position, she takes and cradles Elise's neck and head between her hands much as she can. The pain in her own hand is lost among the adrenaline. "Ready when you are, comrades."

Dimitri nods to Novikova, "It the worst feeling in the world to know that there's nothing you can do to save someone." He points to his pin and says, "I found myself a trophy. A fine days work."

Elise is a nice sack of potatoes for the crew to move. If she hears Maschenko's assurances, she gives no sign. Shame the gunner can't be a part of the gun dismantling.

Novikova nods back at Dimitri, "Da… my poor cousin is a proper girl. She doesn't belong here like an ox like me does," She frowns. She sighs at that and peers at the pin. "really? Is that the other sniper? Fellow got my hand pretty good," She frowns and looks to it.

"Indoors, comrades- indoors!" he waves the lot of them in with his good arm. Yulia's stare is met with a grin and assurance: "don't look at me like that, comrade- I promise: the doctors have already looked at it."

"Who's been in here before and knows where a good place is to put the injured?" Maschenko's got the weight of Elise's upper body, though no telling how long he's going to be able to support her.

Dimitri nods at Novikova's question and says, "Yes, this is his. I got him good in the stomach. He should've covered his core better. Probably a fresh recruit." He shakes his head. "How are you wounds feeling?"

Dimitri looks over at Maschkeno, "I think there's a kindergarten classroom that we could put them. If I recall it's inside and north a little ways." We could cover the most obvious entrance to the north and station some sentries to the south…I don't think there're windows west or east."

Novikova looks unsure at Maschenko's question. "I am not sure, but I can look to the north if you like," She offers. Then a glance to Dimitri, "You were able to see all that? Huh." She hms softly and shrugs. "I don't know much about sniping. And it aches more than it stings. I think I'm getting used to being shot. I just wish I could be shot instead of Elise. That's all."

Yulia waits, uncertain and unfamiliar with this school, though if it's anything like the one she went to… but she listens to Dimitri who probably looked around a bit. Then eyes down to Elise, frowning.

"Fine, there first." Maschenko's shoulders are starting to tremble, and dropping Elise is not a good idea. "If we find a better place, we go later. Comrade nurse?" He nods to Yulia and Mikhail indicating onwards into the building.

:shakes his head a little bit as he overhears Novikova. "Careful about what you wish for. At some point someone might grant it to you," he offers, before he nods a little bit at Dimitri's words, "I kind of remember something like that from before…" he offers quietly. Moving with the others, when they start to move.

Elise would just as soon neither of them got shot, truth be told. Or clocked in the head. She begins to come to at an inconvenient moment as they're heading inside. Of course she immediately starts to lift her head to see what's going on, pulling weakly against Yulia's grip. Brown eyes blink with an unfocused gaze, confused. Then the pain hits her and her face contorts, letting out a quiet groan.

Dimitri nods to Maschenko, "I'll take you there…I hope I remember where it is." He meanders off to the west.

Dimitri heads off West.

Maschenko heads off West.

Yulia heads off West.

This was the room where the youngest of the factory workers' children were taught. Mercilessly shelled and walls pockmarked by gunfire, it lies in ruin now. Remnants of innocence are in the rubble here — charred drawings, pieces of wooden toys. A little scarf, shredded over a broken desk. Everything is damp, snow and rain blowing in through the holes in the walls.

It is currently dusk.

Sub-Rooms :

1. Small broken desk

2. Overturned cabinet

3. Crumbling doorway

Dimitri walks in leading the rest of the group carrying Elise. He looks around and spots the window to the west, "Damn, I forgot this window." A look back at Maschenko, "Can we use it?"

Yulia enters, glancing behind her every few steps. She's trying to keep her steps light and even, preventing any further trauma to Elise's head wounds. As she sees the gunner come to, she says in a low voice, "Comrade, we're moving you to a safe spot. Don't worry, just relax."

Maschenko nearly stumbles with Elise by the time they've gotten all up in the school like this. The dampness in the room makes him grimace, but he nods Yulia towards a place by the wall that isn't blasted to shit. "It'll do for a minute. We need to get this bleeding stopped. Comrade Mikhail, Dimitri…can you look around and see if you find anywhere less…wet?"

Novikova arrives from the South.

Dimitri nods to Maschenko, "Da, Comrade doctor." A look over at Mikhail, "See if there's anything to the northwest, I'll check the east." He wanders off.

Dimitri heads off East.

Dimitri arrives from the East.

Dimitri arrives rather quickly after leaving and points back the way he came, "The boarding room is to the east. There are even a few mattresses that haven't been ripped to shit and lots of cover."

«Game» It is now night time.

"Hurts," Elise murmurs, eyes scrunched tightly shut. "What happened?" She looks around as much as she can without moving her head, the throbbing combined with Yulia's gentle grip discouraging any further motion. Then in concern, "Where's Zoya?"

Mikhail heads off North.

Novikova is having a time of it now, worried about her cousin. She wanders in after the others, seeming a bit lost in thought. She has her blanket with her at laest. Too bad she left home without her towel. She smiles at Dimitri. "Thanks." She nods. She looks to Elise. "Here, don't worry," She ignores the ache in her left hand. The brain is merciful. When it is so injured, sometimes it overwhelms its abilities. "Cousin." She seems worried. Fret.

Yulia eases over to the wall that Maschenko indicated. The room is not welcoming at all, and she considers the slick sheen of snow and water. "She's right here," she says to Elise, as Novi comes to their side. "We could move to the boarding room after we…" a nod, indicating Elise, as she looks from Maschenko to Dimitri.

"Okay," Maschenko murmurs. "We're going to move the wounded there, in just a minute." He's wadding up gauze to get Elise's head looking less like a leaking tomato first. "Dimitri, will you go back and check on Taktarov? Make sure they're not about to burn the place down." He does like the tall young soldier, but….boys and fire, you know.

Dimitri nods to Dimitri, "Yes, Comrade doctor." He sets his rifle down against one of the desks and moves off to check on the pyro in the other room.

Dimitri nods to Maschenko, "Yes, Comrade doctor." He sets his rifle down against one of the desks and moves off to check on the pyro in the other room.

Dimitri heads off South.

Novikova blinks, "What! He gets to play with explosives without me." Pout. "Chemistry always was fun… But I'll let him have this." She's more worried about Elise. "I can help if you two need. Otherwise I guess I should not get under foot."

Mikhail arrives from the North.

Dimitri arrives from the South.

"I 'm sure Elise would appreciate your presence, but…" Yulia is not sure exactly what they might have to do to get her in working order, but she suspects it won't be pretty, and Novi might be more pained by watching. She watches Dimitri head out and then back to Maschenko. "If you need more gauze, comrade doctor."

"Zoya," Elise murmurs, relief mixing with a plaintive tone when her eyes light on her cousin. She's still pretty out of it, and just lays there. Her eyes close again for a moment, but she lets out a sharp cry when Maschenko puts any pressure on the wound. A hand reflexively reaches up halfway to make the hurting stop.

Dimitri walks in and says to Maschenko, "He's got the fire going. I told him to keep an eye on it until I burned out and then to join us in the boarding room." He has a seat in one of the desks and fishes his cigarettes out before lighting one up.

Working order to Maschenko isn't -terribly- much. His hands carefully on Elise's face, enough pressure to stem bleeding. As she gives that cry he makes a quiet sound through his teeth. "Shhhh, Elise." Half futile comfort, half warning for her not to hit him. "You're bleeding, I've got to stop it. Zoya, take her hands. Yulia, check her nose, please. Tell me if it's bleeding." He glances up as Dimitri returns, nodding. "Thank you."

Dimitri walks over to Novikova, "Zoya, come with me to help get the boarding room ready for the wounded." He's just trying to get the poor girl away from her injured cousin being worked on.

Novikova smiles at Elise. She listens, and nods. "I am fine. Don't worry. Just let them take care of you," She offers to elise. "I'll go help get the room ready," She promises. She smiles at Maschenko sadly and moves to follow Dimitri. "What do you need me to do?"

Dimitri heads off East.

Dimitri says to Novikova, "We need to clear the floor and move mattresses back onto the frames so the wounded can use them. Probably the most comfortable rest they're going to get out here."

Yulia kneels a tad to check, and shakes her head, seeing no blood- at least in that area. "No, it's not." She unstraps her pack and sets it aside, opening it for easy access to whatever they might need. A glance is spared over to Dimitri and Novi as they move off.

Dimitri heads off East.

Elise's hand hovers there but doesn't smack or otherwise get in the way. Just sort of guards, Maschenko's soothing words having at least some impact. More pained sounds slip out, and she mumbles something in German when Novi starts to move away, the only word discernible in Russian being "Zoya."

Novikova looks sad, but she follows Dimitri for now.

Novikova heads off East.

"Good, good…" There's relief in Maschenko's voice when Yulia assures him there's no blood or worse coming from Elise's nose. "You're going to be fine, Elise…just fine. Now we're going to move you in with Zoya, alright? It'll hurt a few minutes, but then you can rest." He glances at Yulia, giving a small motion with his head towards the east where the other two got off to. "Ready, comrade nurse?"

"Yes," Yulia confirms. She throws her bag again over her shoulder before takes Elise's neck and head again, gently as possible, and starts to follow in Novi's tracks.

Elise seems reassured by the promise of following Zoya, and also the blissful relief when Maschenko stops pressing on her cheek. There's a mumbled response, so quiet it's hard to even tell what language it was in, and her hand lowers, resting against her stomach while they move her.

Taktarov arrives from the South.

Maschenko makes sure Yulia's got Elise's head and neck steady before he picks her up. It's not the world's easiest task; no sweeping off feet of damsels around here. It's blood and hunger and weakness, and droplets of rain starting to blow through holes in the walls again. And man, it's cold. He starts shuffling eastward with Yulia's help.

Some teachers at this factory school lived on the grounds during the week, in this room. It was a small one, housing several bunk beds and some old tables that are now lying in mangled pieces everywhere.

Signs of human desperation are blatant. A mattress was shoved up against a window, bulletholes now ripped through it. Pencils lie on the floor, bloody from being used to try and rip flesh with their blunt points.

A portrait of Lenin is shoved into a corner behind some rubble, perhaps guarded more fiercely than some of the lives here themselves.

It is currently night time.

Sub-Rooms :

1. Toppled bunk bed frame

2. Collapsed wall

3. Overturned lockers

4. Flimsy closet door

Yulia arrives from the West.

Maschenko arrives from the West.

Mikhail arrives from the West.

«Equipment» Vengeance has dropped 7.62-54R x 40.

«Equipment» Mikhail has picked up 7.62-54R x 60.

«Equipment» Vengeance has dropped 7.62-25R x 20.

«Equipment» Mikhail has dropped 7.62-54R x 45.

Novikova nods, "Da." She smiles at Dimitri. "Thanks. I am on it," She sighs. "The sniper thought it funny to go for my hand not my face," She frowns and looks to her hand. "But I should thank Comrade Yulia for her bandage," She notes quietly. "Did you get a bandage too?" She asks to be sure as she sets the next mattress down.

«Equipment» Novikova has picked up 7.62-54R x 45.

«Game» Novikova unwields her Shovel!

«Game» Novikova wields her SVT-40!

«Equipment» Novikova has dropped 7.62-54R x 20.

«Equipment» Novikova has dropped 7.62-54R x 20.

Dimitri looks up as the others enter the room. He points to the mattress that they just set down, "Here. Put her down here." He looks back to Novikova, "Well, count your blessings. I got a bandage for my arm, but not for my hand."

Mikhail slips in with the others, and drops down in a corner, shaking his head a little bit to himself.

Maschenko makes his way into the boarding area with Yulia. He's carrying Elise in his arms while the nurse keeps the girl's neck securely cradled, all of them a mess of blood. The rifle on his back is quite blood-smeared as well, the bayonet covered in a darkening red crust from the earlier throat slitting. "Mattress?" Dimitri's pointing guides him, and he heads that way. It's not very graceful but he does his best.

Petrenko is seated on one of the lockers, his Mosin-Nagant held in his left hand while his right is using a piece of fabric torn from one of the mattresses in an attempt to clean the grime-covered rifle. He glances up at the people as they come in, recognizing most of them (as they would he) as allies from the many many days of fighting they've all endured.

«Equipment» Maschenko has picked up 7.62-54R x 40.

Elise groans softly as she's laid down on the mattress. Her eyes open again, taking in the room with a pained squint. "What happened?" she asks drowsily.

«Equipment» Maschenko has dropped 7.62-54R x 31.

Yulia shuffles along, making sure to have a firm grip, without it becoming like a vice. She aims for the mattress along with Maschenko and helps to settle the gunner down as fluidly as possible, then rubs her forehead with the back of her left hand. A few more windows here, but at least it's not as damp as the last room. Gazing around quickly, she spots the new man in the locker, and starts— just a little— easing, then, as he's not got the malicious look of a German in hiding.

Novikova nods, and watches as her cousin is carried in. There's worry on Novi's expression. She smiles then frowns. "Nyet?" She looks to hhis hand. "I can give you some cloth at least," She offers quietly. "Sorry, I fret because she's so delicate compared to an oaf like me." A sad smile at that. She looks to Maschenko. "Thank you." She looks over the trio to see. And a smile to Petrenko. "Hello there." She looks to Elise, perhaps trying to hear the story. Blinking at Yulia now. Huh.

Dimitri snaps his fingers at the idle Petrenko and he says, "Get up and start moving the mattresses back to their frames or start clearing the floor of rubble, we've got wounded and they need a place to rest." He moves out of the groups way and hoists another mattress up in his arms, moving it over to a frame.

Maschenko didn't see what happened to Elise, so he offers simply, "Ah…you got hit in the head." Astute, doc. "But everyone is alright. Zoya's here." He sits tiredly back on his heels, regaining some breath through pain, and gives Yulia a very grateful nod. "Will you wrap her head, comrade nurse." The Ukrainian wipes the back of his bloody hand against his nose, looking over at Petrenko and then Dimitri. "You didn't get a bandage? Come here, comrade."

Petrenko eases himself up off the locker and, slinging his rifle over his shoulder, nods to Dimitri. Though he remains silent he moves to start clearing the floor of rubble and debris. Pushing the lockers out of the way with his feet he crouches down and begins moving splintered wooden frames and broken plaster out of the way.

What bandages she has are retrieved from her pack, and Yulia begins wrapping after moving in further and kneeling by the mattress. First over the top of her head, then down in front of Elise's ear and under the chin, in order to cover the side of her face where Elise was bashed. She ties it all off with a knot and sits back on her haunches with a weary sigh, placing a hand on her canteen. "Do you want a little water, Elise?"

Dimitri sets his mattress down on the frame and nods to Maschenko, wiping some sweat from his brow with his bloody hand and moves over to offer the hand to the doctor, "Sorry, Comrade Doctor, I guess I forgot to get it wrapped up." He /has/ been working since the battle ended.

Novikova offers to Petrenko, "If we met, comrade, I forgot your name. I am Zoya Novikova, resident comedienne and student," Novikova admits. She looks to Elise, "I didn't see. But it seems they conked you over the head. If it helps, I hit another Nazi over the head with my shovel." She pauses, "I wonder if Rada would be proud." Either way, she helps where she can. "Let me know if you or Comrade Yulia need anything," Novikova offers. "I feel a bit bad I got off so lightly." Sadfface. Either way, she looks to her poor cousin.

Elise doesn't respond to Maschenko's vague explanation, squinting like she's trying to remember it for herself, bothered that she can't. She starts to nod to Novi's explanation but thinks better of it. She stays quiet and mostly still while Yulia wraps her head. At the question, her unfosued gaze snaps back on Elise. "Water. Ja, please." Though she lets out a breath to say, "I feel dizzy."

Petrenko glances up at Novikova and nods a little. He pushes some boxes of rotten books out of the way before standing up and extending a dirty hand, "Dimitri Andreiovich Petrenko. Left behind by the 150th Rifles, Third Shock Army when they moved out towards Poland." He shakes his head a little bit before frowning, he looks about the place and sighs, "I used to come to school here. When I was young."

"It's fine," Maschenko tells Dimitri tiredly. He wraps up the man's hand, the thin gauze around his own already having started to bleed through. This time they got him in his working hand, this making all the fine care difficult. His expression's locked against pain, just the tension of his jaw betraying. "Here we go…that'll stop it. Give it a day and I'll sew it up for you."

Dimitri nods to the doctor and allows the hand to finish being wrapped, "Thank you, Comrade Doctor." He moves over to have a seat on one of the mattresses he prepared. It looks like the fatigue is finally hitting the poor sniper, his breathing increasing. A look over at Petrenko…hrmm another Dimitri…looks like he'll have to fight for his name.

"Here, don't sit up." Yulia unscrews the cap, and carefully tilts the container to Elise's lips. "Just a little now." The mention of dizziness causes Yulia to roll forward on her knees a bit, giving Elise a long look. Her voice comes cautiously, "Are you able to tell me the names of the people around here?" Just a check, but she figures better than asking the date or where they are, since both change so rapidly.

Maschenko leans back against the wall, letting his left shoulder take most of the weight. It's not until about a full minute after Petrenko's given his name that part of his mind catches up, and a brow raises. "Petrenko? Are you Ukrainian?" Neither surprised nor disgusted, but interested in that one fact. He certainly is Ukrainian, he's got the distinct accent of someone who didn't learn Russian until adulthood.

Novikova looks to her lefthand and winces. She offers her right with a smile. "Pleased to meet you, Comrade." She nods back. "And oh. I'm sorry. I know how that feels," She admits quietly. She looks worried hearing her cousin is dizzy. "If I can help you settle in with us, let me know. Comrade Doctor and Nurse are very kind, though they get busy," She notes quietly. She smiles at Dimitri of the sniping flavor, "You might want to sit down too. I may sit down when it's okay near my cousin."

Dimitri looks up at Novikova, having already sat down on a mattress, "Like I already am, Comrade Novikova?" He chuckles. He looks down and polishes his German pin a little bit before saying, "I think we performed well this evening. Good job, comrades."

Elise sips a little, coughing as it tries to go down the wrong pipe. She manages to get a little water without choking, at least. A fuzzy look at Yulia's question, and then she looks around. "Zoya," she names first, surprise surprise. "Comrade Doctor." Dimitri gets a long look. "Um." It's not that she doesn't remember him, she's just having a hard time digging up his name out of the cobwebs surrounding her brain. "Rascalov," she finally comes up with it, after longer than it should take, and adds randomly, "We still don't know if he's married." Then her eyes light on Petrenko, and he gets a blank stare.

Petrenko shakes his head a little to Maschenko, "not directly, though there is Ukrainian blood on my father's side. My mother is Lithuanian, which might explain my accent…" He shrugs a little and frowns slightly in the direction of Novikova, "da, thank you comrade. I wish only to serve the motherland." He glances towards Elise, "we have not met, comrade. I am Petrenko. My friends called me Renko, or Pet. You may call me as you wish."

Maschenko casts Dimitri a brief glance at the mention of a dead lover. His face is hard to read, but the expression shifts subtly into one of sympathy. A slight nod to the man and he kneels down by Yulia and Elise. "How is the dizziness, Elise?"

Dimitri shrugs at Novi, "I don't really know, I just take things from other snipers I've killed." He obviously hasn't heard the talk about him as he's sitting quietly on his bed, observing his bloodied hand, occasionally wiggling his fingers and wincing. A look up at Novikova, "I exercise because Mother Russia needs me ready for battle when the time comes. As for a sweetheart, my Yvone was killed a few months ago by ther German bombs." He doesn't seem particularly sorrowful when he says this.

Maschenko casts Dimitri a brief glance at the mention of a dead lover. His face is hard to read, but the expression shifts subtly into one of sympathy. A slight nod to the man and he kneels down by Yulia and Elise. "How is the dizziness, Elise?"

Petrenko shrugs a little to Novikova, "it's nice enough. If you like strudel and lederhosen…" He shakes his head as he goes back to moving rubble and mattresses and other manly tasks, he doesn't appear to like talking much.

Jawdrop. "well, I'll be eating my shoe. In the corner." Novikova looks briefly flustered. "I'm sorry, Dimitri." She frowns. She nods at the trophy comment. She rubs the back of her head with her right hand. "Guess it's just not an evening till I make an ass of myself." Deep breath. "And yeah, those're pretty nice." She smiles. She looks to Petrenko. Pause. "Sometimes I feel like the least quiet, mysterious person here." Pause. Sigh. She frowns, "Well, I haven't hit you. I would brain anyone who did." Nod. "Hey, that's funny though - both our Dimitris are quiet sorts. I wonder why my dad wasn't quiet, that was his name too." Ponder.

Elise is having trouble focusing her attention, drifting in and out of conversations. Petrenko's introduction gets a pretty blank stare. "Petrenko," she echoes. He'll probably have to repeat that later. "Not too bad if I lie still. But it feels like someone's hammering on my head with a shovel. I'm gonna close my eyes for awhile." Distractedly she echoes, "Strudel," with an almost wistful tone.

On hearing what happened to Dimitri's Yvone, Yulia feels quite bad for provoking the memory and turns to shuffle the unused scraps of bandages back into her bag. She shoots Novi a guilt-ridden look. Oops. Sigh. "… Strudel?" The nurse sounds a bit concerned. "If you mean Russian strudel…then, da…"

«Game» It is now dawn.

"If it snows tonight, we'll get you some to put on your nose and cheek," Maschenko tells Elise. His voice is kept low, probably to avoid jarring the girl's headache further than need be. As usual the doctor seems somewhat oblivious to the social chatter while in work mode, though the evening's quickly catching up to depleted adrenaline stores. "Zoyenka, I'll look at your arm after it's had a little time. Don't move it around."

Petrenko raises an eyebrow to Yulia as she speaks, he tilts his head a little as he leans on a rusted and dirt-covered bedframe, "and Russian lederhosen? I am saying that my mother's beloved Lithuania is now no more, it is under the Nazi jackboot, like the rest of Europe… So not a real nice place to visit right now. Unless you've got a rifle and lots of ammunition." He glances over to Novi and chuckles a little, though no smile comes to his face, "maybe you got your bright-eyed attitude from your papa? Keep hold of it."

"Haven't wanted to hope for snow for a long time," Elise says. "Already so cold." She sighs. "Thank you, Doctor," she murmurs softly. "Is it all right if I sleep for awhile?" Maybe then she can escape the pain and dizziness for awhile.

Novikova nods, "I would be glad to help get snow for my cousin," She offers and smiles. THen a pause to look at her injured hand. "It should hurt more, but that sniper was a good shot…" She admits, her eyes wide. A wince and a look to Petrenko. novikova murmurs softly, "There are some who listen for such things as signs of ill will." She seems uneasy and cryptic at that. Soon she returns to normal though. "Maybe. Dad was happy I was in University," She clings to it by force of will, imposing herself on such a world. She doesn't belong in it. "I brought our blankets, Cousin. I'll sit with you if you like," She offers to Elise.

"No—" From beside Elise, Yulia glances at Petrenko, not having caught the initial words about strudel. She shakes her head, a frown creasing her brow. "Russian lederhosen is as impossible as .. well, it's just not right. But - I am sorry about your mother's country." She says simply. "I hope they will not say the same about Stalingrad, soon." She is unpacking her own blanket.

Maschenko looks at Petrenko for a few moments, from under his brows. As empathetic as someone from an occupied country might be able to be to the sentiment, he says nothing to it right now. Instead, a nod to Elise. "Sleep. We'll wake you up during the night to check on you." He sets his intact hand on his knee, standing stiffly back up.

Petrenko raises his eyebrows to Yulia, "if they do, comrade, they will have all our names there as one of the casualties dying to protect her." He shakes his head, "I, personally, do not want to die. So, as long as we live, Stalingrad stays Soviet. The harder they push, the harder we fight back. The more land they take, the more Nazi's we strike down until there is nothing left but us and Hitler's pet dog."

"Are they talking about lederhosen or am I hallucinating?" Elise asks in utter bafflement, catching only snatches of conversation. "Thank you, Doctor, and you cousin." She looks to Zoya as she comes near, "Da, I'd like tha… where's my pack?" she asks in sudden alarm, starting to sit up to look for it before the awful pain in her head drives her back down again.

Novikova seems sympathetic for Petrenko too, but cautious. She smiles at the Doctor, "You sleep too, da?" A nod at Petrenko. She seems pleased her cousin remembers her. "Oh! Um, it's around here," She hunts. "I was helping set this room up and only had one hand it was rather frustrating-" She is looking. "I'll go outside if I don't see it here," Though she's hopeful someone grabbed it.

"Lederhosen?" Maschenko repeats blandly, and quite mispronounced. "They're talking about Stalingrad." As Elise sits up and promptly back down again, he slowly arches a bloodstreaked eyebrow. "Your pack's here somewhere. Let the room calm down and someone'll find it. Zoya, sit down, you've lost a lot of blood. And Comrade Yulia…if you see Comrade Taktarov, tell him to stop being skittish. There are bandages with his name on them." Herding cats, this army. Herding cats.

Yulia rubs at her wrist; it's the closest she can get to massaging her pulsing right hand that is now sending hints that she might have used it a bit too much. Oww. She nods slowly at Petrenko's words. "I agree, comrade. Though if we have to fight at all, why not just get it over with in a big open field rather than destroying our city." She turns to give Elise a faint smirk. "Well, we're trying /not/ to talk about it." She gives Maschenko a nod of confirmation, and will try to pin down Taktarov, not literally of course. Novi might get mad.

Petrenko shakes his head a little to Novikova, "you get rested, I'll take first watch." He unslings the rifle from his shoulder and checks the breach, the muzzle and the other bits of the gun that need to be checked. He nods, apparently satisfied, "you guys are heroes today, I owe you this much." He jerks his head towards some beds and some rather comfortable pieces of plaster, "go, I will wake you later."

Elise still seems quite agitated by her missing pack, bleary eyes looking this way and that. "Please find it, Zoya," she pleads, either not hearing or ignoring Maschenko's orders to Zoya. That is until Zoya points out the one handedness, and then she finally sees Novi's injury. "Mein Gott, your hand. Cousin." Petrenko gets a distractedlook.

"Are you hungry?" Maschenko asks Petrenko, over his shoulder. "There's some rations somewhere. Keep your strength up." He's about to attempt to tend to his own arm, which in the neglect of the evening has finally bled through his coat sleeve, when he hears Elise still trying to make Novikova get her pack. He exhales quietly through his nose, rebuttoning his jacket collar. "I'll find it, it's probably outside. Zoya, /stay here/." That's his Serious Voice, no kidding, and he starts for the door.

Novikova nods, "Alright. Thank you. It was a pleasure," She smiles at Petrenko. She seems fond of their Ukranians. Although, she pauses and looks to Yulia. She smiles. She's not a jealous person at least. "I will," She promises. "Oh-" Serious voice is serious. Novikova pauses, "So I did." 'eeeeeeeeeeey, blood loss. One eyebrow lifts, the other falls. "Whaddya know, he's right," She eyes her hand a momeent then pauses at Elise, "It's not that bad is it? It feels like it should hurt more - it doesn't move much but -" She's really not /suffering/, it's a good, clean set of shots. "I guess you're right. I'll share my pack and blankets while he looks. I don't argue with the Doctor." She respects Maschenko thaaaaaaat much. Daw.

"Yes, Zoya. Just…." Yulia watches Novi flitter around and then her eyes wander to the red stain on Maschenko's sleeve. "/No/, comrade doctor. I'll look." Whoo, her Serious Voice. It's not very emphatic but he was in the skirmish and not she. Yulia stretches up and rubs the back of her neck. A bit scattered feeling right now. "It might be back in the kindergarten room from when we brought you in. I will find it. Thank you, comrade." To Petrenko, kind enough to take a watch for the weary fighters.

Clash of Serious Voices! They can argue out in the hall like adults, as Maschenko's already out the door. Bring it.

Petrenko would take a watch, a clock. Hell, he'd take a whole clock tower. He peers out of the window and frowns a little, though he remains silent as he glances out of the small room, "next time we have to defend somewhere," he says finally, "can we make it a hotel?" He smiles weakly before sitting on the windowsill with his rifle propped up against his leg.

Elise is sadly ignorant of the extent of Maschenko's own injuries to realize just how nice he's being, but still - there's no mistaking the relief and gratitude in her face. "Thank you, Comrade Doctor. Comrade Yulia." The thanks shift when Yulia joins in the search as well. She quiets, satisfied that one of them will find it. "It looks awful, Zoya. I'm glad it doesn't hurt you very much." She'll be content to settle in and chill with Novi, drfiting off a bit. Though she won't truly relax until her fiddle is safely beside her.

«Game» Petrenko unwields his Mosin-Nagant!

«Game» Petrenko wields his NR-40!

"Da, I'd like room service." She grins at Petrenko. Novikova sighs softly and puts a blanket on her cousin first. She will settle down nearby just to the side, and seems somewhat relieved by the search efforts. "I wish I could help but I guuess they are worried about me. It will be alright I am sure." She's probably still woozy from blood loss and cheery in spite of it. With a yawn, she will settle in to sleep near Elise.

Petrenko nods a little, "goodnight my comrades. Tonight I am your guardian angel, as you are the guardians of all Mother Russia. Sleep well, and wake strong. For tomorrow we fight." He nods to each of them in turn before looking out towards the abandoned city streets, "or die…"
