(From (#1692) Bf110) Metzger changes direction to once again roll in on Dunkerque. Loosing site of the Bofors he tries to line up on one of the many foxholes on the beach.

«Ground Combat» Nigel fires his Lee Enfield SMLE at Bf110 (#1692) but misses! (Accuracy 1%!)

From Beach, Mitchell spins and hits the ground as his arm is nearly ripped off.

From Beach, Llywelyn does not get far. He doesn't help Roux too much, by getting splattered by aircraft fire himself. He groans, lying in the sand, bleeding a lot. It's impossible to tell if he's alive or dead.

From Beach, Harris runs up the beach from the direction of the water. Having seen the strafing from a distance.

From Beach, Harris climbs over the beach to the gang. "Where is everybody? Is this it?" he asks, swarming into a foxhole.

From Beach, Nigel lies in the sand, having shot several clips dry until his hand got caught in the path of the strafing fire, putting a shell right through it and rendering it all but useless. All he can do is roll over onto his back, rifle at the hip, spending the last few rounds skyward with his left hand on the trigger, the bloody pulp of a right hand craddled to his chest.

From Beach, «Ground Combat» Allan moves out of Slit Trench.

From Beach, Roux is slumped, half-alive, half dead in the seat of the bofors. Is he. … Well, the Frenchman is swiss cheese really, for lack of a better description. His breathing is ragged and there's blood all over.

From Beach, Llywelyn has left.
Announcement: Afterlife shouts, "Llywelyn has been revived!"
From Beach, Llywelyn has arrived.

From Beach, Harris gahs, seeing Nigel in a bad way. "Get up soldier, we're on the next boat! Where is everybody? We're not leaving anybody behind here for the Nazis.". He then sees Lew and Roux (hey it rhymes, and so climbs out of the sandy hole, over to where Roux is, and works on hastily binding the wounds of the Frenchman. Not much time for ceremony on the beach.

From Beach, Harris shouts, "WE'RE LEAVING! EVERYBODY IN MY PLATOON TO 3 6 IMMEDIATELY!".

From Beach, Nigel sits up as Harris approaches, leaning on the butt of his rifle with the left hand, the right shaking as it bleeds all over the place. He's looking rather sickly, and after his mouth opens to speak, lips shaking a couple of times, he turns and doubles over to empty his rations on the sand. Once that's done he comes up, wipes his sleeve across his mouth, and nods to Harris. "Yes Sir. Can't say where the rest of First Platoon is, Sir… scattered I think, Sir, trying to run from the planes."

From Beach, Harris meanwhile works on getting Roux out of the antiaircraft gun chair, and peers into his eyes, looking for consciousness. "Can you move?" he asks the Frenchman. He then looks up at the injured Nigel, and shakes his head. "We need to get everybody out now, or there might not be another chance.".

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger drops down from the sky after recieveing radio messages about troops still on the beech. The BF109 closes in on Dunkerque trying to expend his remaning ammunition.

From Beach, Allan says "Incoming fighter!"

From Beach, Harris looks up at that. "Take cover!".

From Beach, Nigel doesn't need any warning beyond the sound of the airplane's prop overhead. He's on the sand in moments, loosely, very loose shooting rounds into the air.

From Beach, Harris crawls into the foxhole, trying to drag Roux along with him, but somewhere along the way theres a wet splattering noise and the captain gets sprayed with gore.

From Beach, Allan gets into his foxhole, ducking as the bullets kick up sand around him. The Lance Corporal tries to wiggle out of his web gear, tossing anything that might weigh him down.

From Beach, "I'll try …" Roux replies, but … he doesn't get far before his leg is pretty much shot to hell. "NOT SO MUCH NOW!" Roux yelps. He's still trying to crawl along though, to his credit. He whimpers, tears running down his face a bit. « Oh man… » He is not happy at all.

From Beach, Harris eyes the fighter, which is a long way off now - but unmistakeably coming back. "I don't think we're going to make it to the boat before it returns.".

From Beach, Well, Roux sure isnt.

From Beach, Harris hides, having ended up with Nigel in a hole again, and mutters prayers quietly under his breath, not much else to be done.

From Beach, Nigel is back on his feet, but doesn't advance very far before he sees the aircraft swing by again. Then he's on his knees in the sand once more, reloading one-handed as well as possible, and dropping back to the hole in the sand, propping the rifle up on the edge. He can't hold it, lets the sand do it for him.

From Beach, Poor Roux. He's probably doomed, but at least he's made it into a foxhole, where he can curl up and beg forgiveness for ogling those french maids.

From Beach, Harris watches the 109 flying away. "Lets see if it comes back again, I don't want to be exposed on the beach if it returns. Is everybody ready to go?" he calls out, looking over the hunkered down soldiers, making sure nobody is doing anything stupid like lugging a radio around.

From Beach, Allan nods, raising his hand and giving a thumbs up to the Officer.

From Beach, Nigel is shaking hard, and it's doubtful he's effective at all, or if he can even aim in the right direction, but at least shooting's better than just being a target, futile or not. He crawls past Harris, bleeding, and props himself up on the other end of the foxhole, aiming at the German airplane.

From Beach, Harris watches to see if its coming back again…

From Beach, Allan takes the hit, screaming in pain, rolling away, trying to get deeper into the hole where he can hunker down.

From Beach, Harris is staying the fuck down. No movement here!

From Beach, Roux is parying for sweet sweet death.

From Beach, Harris is sure theres plenty of movement on the beach right now, but in a selfish flash of thought, he hopes that if the fighter comes back, it'll strafe some poor buggers a bit further down rather than his good self.

From Beach, Harris shakes his head. "We're going to have a problem getting that Frenchman out of here with his leg like that. The boat is some distance out into the water.".

From Beach, Nigel lies in the hole, panting as he leans his face against the stock of his upraised rifle, doing his best to avoid staring at his hand. Instead he looks out to the channel, waiting, eyes closed. "Float him there, Sir?"

From Beach, Harris sees the 109 heading away. Apparently eying somewhere else. "Alright. We can't sit here al day, we're just going to die. Lets go. Follow me!".

From Beach, «Ground Combat» Harris moves out of Foxhole.

From Beach, "Yes Go— sir… yes sir," Roux replies meekly. He is following as best as he can. Poor one legged Frog bastard.

From Beach, «Ground Combat» Roux moves out of Foxhole.

From Beach, «Ground Combat» Nigel moves out of Foxhole.

From Beach, Allan scurries out of his foxhole, keeping low to the ground as he moves over towards the officer.

From Beach, Harris heads over to Roux, and tries to help him along, on his bloody stump. "Everybody else, head west, its over there." he says, pointing to a boat westwards, and out to sea.

From Beach, Nigel climbs out of the foxhole, using his rifle as an improvised cane as his boots slip and stumble over the bloodsoaked sand. He looks up at the sky, paranoid, as he marches on as well as he can. At least his legs aren't hit.

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger spins the aircraft around heading back towards the BEF position. The pilot makes subtle corrections to the aircraft to line it up on the target area. A quick check is made to his round counter ensuring he still has enough for however many passes he needed to make. Pleased with the results he screams towards the BEF positions.

From Beach, Allan gets up to a crouch, scurrying to the west as quickly as he can whilst remaining under cover at least a little.

From Beach, Harris sees death approaching, though a while away yet. "Go go go! Move!".

From Beach, "Srorry, sir!" He chirps. "Please, don't worry about me … " He is trying, but. Roux isn't exactly fast.

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger opens up with his MGs unloading along high angle strafe past down into BEF positions just east of your location. His pass was spot on and the evedance of the carnage can be seen as pillers of smoke begin to rise into the air.

«Game» Allan changes his style to TakeCover!

From Beach, Harris is fortunately heroically athletic, a rugger bugger from university no doubt, and half drags Roux along the beach. "Come on soldier, you're almost there.".

«Ground Combat» You notice Roux arrive at Beach.

There are plenty of boats out in the water at the moment, but a small pleasure yacht is your one apparently. A few familiar figures can be seen being hauled onto it by the civilian crew.

Nigel comes running by as the plane swings down behind him. He hits the sand, and speeds off a few rounds up towards the belly of the beast. But that's all he can do, then he lies there, panting for a few moments before looking out towards the boat. "Why the devil's that thing sitting so far?"

Allan gets into the water, cursing as the cold water laps at his legs. The Lance-Corporal wades out as far as he can, ducking behind a charred out boat as he gets his bearings.

Roux is taking advantage of the encouragement and giving it his all. There's not much left of him, but dammit, he's trying. The frog is a stubborn git. He does seem very grateful though. "Thank … you … sir …" He manages, seeming puzzled by the captain's kindness.

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger checks to where he hears ground fire being shot at his aircraft. The pilot then pulls a 180 now spotting the destroyer and zeroing in on its location. The aircraft aims its weapons in its general direction closing in on it and the beach rather quickly.

Harris isn't all that puzzling, after the rampant failure of the BEF, he can at least drag one Frenchman out of here, right?

Allan apparently leads the pack, so is soon up to his neck, which is about as close to the beach as the boat can get. Its not exactly an LST. One of the crew dangles over the side, his legs being clutched by a comrade, and offers a hand to Allan. "All aboard, mate.".

Allan finds himself an old personal flotation device, hardly caring what happened to the previous owner, what with all the bullet holes and blood. The Gunner takes off his helmet, letting it fall to the bottom of the channal as he starts to swim towards the distance boat. He offers his hand to the crewman, at least the one that isn't all shot to hell.

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger is now withink 6 miles of his target. The smoke from the previous attack run sets an easy target refrence point for the fleeing BEF soldiers heading towards the destroyer. The aircraft is low on the horizine and heading straight for you.

Harris has his eye on the 109. "Everybody get down, its coming back!".

«Game» Harris changes his style to TakeCover!

«Airstrike!» Bf109E strafes Beach (2 6) with 2x20mm 2x7.92mm!
Harris suffers 4 wound damage to his right hand.
Nigel suffers 1 wound damage to his abdomen.

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger bleeds his guns dry on a final pass sending bullets and debri throughout the target area. With that he pulls off hard and to the left making his exit from the target area.

Harris splashes down into the water, vanishing from sight under the waves, as a tornado of shell and bullet impacts the beach around him. Somewhere losing track of where Roux is, but he pops up to the surface right after, not even noticing, yet, that he's been hit as well.

There is a mighty heave, and Allan is hauled with difficulty over the side of the boat, to be left on the bottom, with the rest of the evacuees. And a sorry lot they are.

(From (#1694) Bf109E) Metzger climbs up to 11,000 feet mean sea level and begins to turn his fighter back to his airfield leave the objective area. The pilot radios for further backup on the beach head and reports his BDA to his HQ.

Nigel is back up onto his feet, and manages to get to the edge of the water before the airplane swings by again. He throws himself down, screaming bloody hell as salt water gets into his wounds. The strafing fire lifts a curtain of foamy pink water all around him. By the time he rises again, he's hugging his injured side with his good hand, rifle forgotten somewhere below the surface, gritting his jaw as he wades and swims out the rest of the way towards the boat, holding his mangled hand above water level.

Allan groans as he is tossed into the bottom of the boat like a packet of socks. The man hardly cares, he's safe!… Or so he thinks.

Willing hands reach down for Nigel and Roux, though Roux especially is in a horrendous state. Being lifted bodily by the arms out of water while injured is no doubt not an enjoyable experience.

Roux winces, at the feeling of SALT WATER in his wounds. And being pulled up out of said salt water! Oh god oh god oh god, it burns and burns and burns and burns. The poor man gurgles, but he's trying at least. He's doing his damndest not to whimper.

«Aircraft» (#1694) Bf109E has been destroyed!

Harris is actually the least bad off of everybody. He's last up off the beach, and flops down into the boat with the rest, with a clump of boots. "Is that it?" he asks, looking around and doing a headcount. Though someone left behind now is f*cked for sure, presumably.

Nigel rolls over the railing and slumps down onto the soggy deck, waterlogged and spent. He rests there, sprawled, looking up at the sky, and prays to the Virgin Mary for protection from being sunk. "…and don't let me be food for fishes, Amen." he looks about, turns his ashen face to Harris and tries to look optimistic. "Could be in another boat, Sir… everyone got scattered…"

Harris narrows his eyes, peering out at the beaches. But for the few miles of coast still in Allied hands - and that only at great cost, with some poor unfortunates still fighting a rearguard inland - is all this small scene writ large, chaos everywhere, and trying to spot his own in the morass is impossible. "We'll have to hope they make it, then." he says leadenly.

The boat, meanwhile, is pretty much full, and the crew set to putting up the sail, to get outta here.
Allan nods at that, trying to get comfortable, "Just have to hope everyone gets off…. hard to say who went down in that chaos…" he murmurs, trying to keep his wounds aloft and out of the salt water.

It buuuuuuuuuuuuurns. Poor Roux. Salt water … being pulled. He's just in a world of hurt. Is this God's way of punishing him for being French? He is just kind of curled in a wet, bloody mass.
