Dornier Recon

WW2 - July 1940, south coast of England

«Radio» Everson radios on 999 : Cowslip, this is Red 2. Do you have an angels on this bogie?
«Aircraft» Hurricane Mk2 takes off from RAF Hawkinge!
«Radio» <Cowslip radios> Suspected high. Make angels 20. Confirm on sighting.

(From (#1199) Do-17K) Keller frowns at the horizon as the bomber lumbers towards Rye, and adjusts his mask. It's starting to make his skin clammy underneath. Eurg.

(From (#660) Hurricane Mk2) Stewart hears the call for a high alt bomber, muttering as he pulls back on the stick and gives the old crate some more power to climb.

(From (#662) Hurricane Mk2) Silverson somehow managed to survive nearly being made into flambe. Or blancmage, but Silverson doesn't suck at tennis or turn people into Scotsmen, so he's flying neatly along.

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson continues to climb higher into the more thinner air. He continues to flight in an echelon left formation with Stewart at the lead. Everson then double checks his oxygen and mask making sure it is fastened in his vest and ready to go…. something that should have been done before take, but oh well…nothing you can do about it now.

«Radio» <Red 2 radios> Roger Cowslip. Copy Angels 20. ** are clearing * Lympne at ** time.

(From (#660) Hurricane Mk2) Stewart levels off at around 21000 feet, trimming his plane nicely as he begins to observe the surroundings.

(From (#662) Hurricane Mk2) Silverson winces, his plane must still be damaged though. The thing shakes, stalls, protesting their climb. "Come on…" He grits his teeth and manages to pull them back up.

From Cafe Mason (16 4), Fuchs takes a bite of the sandwich, smirking slightly as he finishes it and speaks. "Contrite as it may be, the Battle of Thermopylae is my favorite. The legend is a bit inflated, but it is still quite a fight. Do you know of it?"

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson continues to climb in alittude. He is climber at a much slower rate then the flight lead, but never the less still climbing.

«Radio» <Red 2 radios> * Leader, be advised Red 2 and Red 3 (Silverson) are about 7 miles behind you. Recomend slowing ** if your going to want back up once you find the target.

«Radio» <Red 2 radios> And Red Leader be advised I am blind your position now. I ** maintain Angels 17 to avoid any mid air *****

«Radio» <Cowslip radios> Be advised Red Leader, target vector is 220, range 24,000 yards, approaching Rye now.

(From (#660) Hurricane Mk2) Stewart nods, "Roger that Cowslip."

(From (#662) Hurricane Mk2) Silverson clings to his controls, as his plane shakes, protesting. That's never a pleasant feeling, least of all at this height.

(From (#660) Hurricane Mk2) Stewart looks around, twisting his head this way and that to try to glimpse the target, "I can't see them."

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson changes course in an attempt to intercept the approaching bombers. His eyes are now seaching the skies looking for possible boggies.

(From (#1199) Do-17K) Keller flies easily over the target and allows himself a small, unplesant smile before changing course.

(From (#660) Hurricane Mk2) Stewart blinks, "Roger I see him, Donier, 5 miles, bearing 20."
«Radio» <Red 2 radios> Cowslip, Red 2. Any changes ** target altitude?

«Radio» <Stewart radios> Angels 13

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson gains site of the flight lead and begins to plot a course in his direction. While a good distance out, he hopes to get to the target area faster.

(From (#662) Hurricane Mk2) Silverson is like the cat in a room full of rocking chairs occupied by a Pyromaniac convention. Nervous. A lot.

(From (#660) Hurricane Mk2) Stewart flies dead on to the Bomber, centering his targeting reticle as he gets closer.

(From (#1199) Do-17K) Keller spots the Hurricane, and is very much a sitting duck, dependent on the gunners.

«Radio» <Red 2 radios> Red two is still NoJoy on the ***

(From (#1199) Do-17K) Keller flinches at the sound of machinegun fire as another of the Hurricanes comes in to rage. By now, the surviving engine is making interesting sputtering noises, and the other has crapped out entirely. The bombers nose drops as it stalls.

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson pulls off the bombers tail not being able to get a succefull run in on the aircraft with the incoming fire. He'll have to swing around and reset for a new attack runin.

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson bugs off from the aircraft knowing for a fact the smoking Do-17 would never be able to make it home. His own aircraft has taken a few engines causing oil to spew out on the windshield as well as smoke from the engine. The airframe doesn't appear in the greatest of shape either.

«Radio» <Red 2 radios> Red 2 is bugging out. Engine ** nearly toast.

«Radio» <Cowslip radios> Observer corps reports the bandit is going down. Return to home plate 79.

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson sets a course for RAF Hawkinge with a busted up engine. He chooses not to bother to climb in alittude not wanting to push his engine to the limits, at least if he goes down it wont be from very high. His engine continues to slave away under the conditions from being made into swiss cheese. He looks over his right shoulder to watch the Do-17 desend closer and closer to the water.

«Aircraft» (#1199) Do-17K has been destroyed!

(From (#1666) Hurricane Mk2) Everson is chugging along at a crusing speed of just below 200mph. He didn't want to push the engine any harder then he wanted…defenitly not over the channel where he could easily be swept up into German hands.

(From (#662) Hurricane Mk2) Silverson is in the special Hurricane. Choo choo.
